Tescott Elementary, Junior High, and High School  keep me on the go.  We are a school noted for being on the cutting edge of technology integration as well as other progressive educational programs.  Our students enjoy the advantages of small class size, opportunities to participate in after school programs, laptops in the elementary and junior high classrooms; and one on one laptops in the high school.

Tescott Elementary was awarded the KSDC Professional Development Award in 2007. Go to the following link and scroll down to 2007 to read all about this award.

Implementing MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) is a districtwide initiative for this school year.  MTSS was developed by the Kansas State Department of Education consultants. The push from the state department is for all Kansas schools to implement this process. USD 240 is ahead of most other schools in the state with this program. Tescott has collected data that shows some impressive results. To find out more about MTSS log on the the KSDE web-site www.ksde.org

Our School Improvement Plan targets specific grade level goals for math, reading and six-trait writing.  The goals are selected after analyzing the data from state assessment results.  The research-based strategies we have in place to help achieve our goals include: use of standards-based vocabulary in math and reading, cooperative learning, technology integration, graphic organizers and a cross grade level reading program.

Our local curriculum is aligned with the state standards in all academic areas.  The state curriculum standards can be accessed by logging on to http://www.ksde.org . Click on “public” and then select the academic area and grade level, you wish to view.

In addition to being the PreK-12 principal, I serve as the district curriculum director.  Mary Bitler and Carol Christian are the school secretaries, who make sure our school day runs smoothly. You are always welcome to e-mail, call or come by the school office, where Mary, Carol, and I will be delighted to help you with any questions or concerns.
